Hot Mix Paving Control

In the United States 94% of the paved roads are surfaced with hot mix asphalt concrete. The paving material is put in place by an asphalt paving machine which includes a heated, vibrating, screed that levels and partially compacts the asphalt mixture. Automated screed systems using inclinometers to measure paving cross-slope constantly adjust paving material thickness and position to improve productivity and produce a smoother pavement.
