Military Sensors Leveling

Portable Antenna Orientation

Where no airport landing systems exist, autonomous portable ground based precision approach radar systems play a key function in providing air traffic services for the rapid deployment of troops and equipment. Portable approach systems require a highly stable vertical reference to precisely calculate aircraft position while guiding the aircraft to a safe landing.

The LCF-2330 inclinometer enables automated leveling of mobile antenna supporting platforms by accurately measuring tilt in two axes. This LCF is ruggedized, totally sealed and incorporates an integral output filter in combination with a specialized servo loop to yield an output with exceedingly low noise. EMI/RFI rejection circuitry is available.

Battle Tank Fire Control

Battle tanks in warfare may not get a "second chance" if initial enemy target engagements are not successful. Control system ballistic firing solutions yielding the highest accuracy require inputs from the most accurate and robust sensors available.

The LSRP-5-5076 inclinometer delivers exceptional accuracy in the most demanding tank warfare environments. Capable of being located directly on a large bore gun, the LSR survives intense shocks produced by repeated firing while consistently delivering a trigonometric angle output with better than 0.05° accuracy over a full military temperature range.

Roller Path Calibration

Roller paths for guns and gun directors are very accurately parallel to one another when a ship is constructed. Over time, structural changes to a vessel caused by rough seas, temperature changes, and varied loading cause roller path orientation to degrade and reduce gun system accuracy.

Absolute tilt sensing precision is necessary to measure the changes in roller path and restore fire control accuracy. The dual axis LCF-2130 has the required combination of unsurpassed repeatability, low thermal sensitivity and long term bias stability to insure accurate naval weapons system alignment measurement and calibration. Inclinometer mishandling and shock resistance is assured by a housing machined from a solid block of aluminum, and a fluid damped torsional suspension inertial sensor.
