JEWELL HIRES JIM BURGESS AS

CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

 Jewell Instruments is extremely pleased to announce the addition of Jim Burgess as Chief Operating Officer. Jim will be responsible for all Operations including Manufacturing, Engineering and Quality Assurance of Jewell’s Manchester, NH and Barbados West Indies facilities. 

Jim comes to Jewell with an impressive history in Manufacturing Environments and Financial Operations, and was previously the COO at Wire Belt in Londonderry, NH, and has held senior Operations positions at Spiral International Corporation, Baird Corporation, and GCA Corporation. He also has a strong Quality background, and is an MBA graduate from Northeastern University and holds Bachelor’s degrees in both Accounting and Liberal Arts from the University of Maine.

“Jim brings a philosophy of leadership stemmed in building relationships and effective communication strategies,” says Carlo Carluccio, President and CEO of Jewell Instruments.  “Jim’s solid experience in Manufacturing Operations and Finance will be a key asset to Jewell’s Continuous Improvement Program.

In addition to improving all aspects of quality and deliveries, part of Jewell’s Continuous Improvement Program is to achieve ISO 9001 certification by the end of 2004.
